  1. After completing the book, I was most interested in the chapter focusing around keeping good health and energy up in the classroom. I was shocked that I would pick this chapter after learning so much from the chapters focusing around instruction, motivation, or structures. However, ultimately the teacher is the most important figure in the room and is in control of the level of student achievement that happens within the class. With this being said, if the the teacher is sharp, healthy, and energized, it will lead to teachers who can raise the level of learning that happens within the class. So, if there are ways for me to be more healthy and energized throughout the year, I would like to try it as my students and family will be positively affected.

Teachers need to think about themselves to make sure they are good professionally day after day. Here are some suggestions: 1. Teachers need to have something to look forward to everyday, 2. They need to think of the positive affects they have on their students, 3. Teach another person something you are learning, 4. Spend time with positive and energetic people, 5. Get some exercise, 6. Read inspiring books or other literature.

By watching you diet, you can also impact your energy.Details include: drinking plenty of water, eat energizing foods (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, fiber), eat a good breakfast, take vitamins). These will keep your mind and body sharp throughout the school year.

Secrets to energy managements: start your day on a positive note, identify and use personal revitalizers, learning to say no, and take power naps when you can, read, and continue to learn.

Dealing with Stress and Distress: find your own personal way to deal with stress, engage in professional development, get proper rest and relaxation, get enough sleep, dress right to make you feel good, let the little things go, and listen to music as it puts you in a better mood.
